2001 Expo Proves to be the Most Successful Ever

The TuskWorld Fashion Expo organizers were pleased with the turnout and the worldwide attention given to this year's event.

Mylar Perdurabo TuskWorld editor, Mylar Perderabo, said that this was the most successful Expo ever. "We've seen three times the numbers of curiousity seekers this year over last year. And our sponsorship has increased 100% since we started doing this five years ago." Earlier this year, TuskWorld was able to coax it's own subsidiary company, Ivory-White, to sponsor this year's fashion extravaganza.

Perdurabo also credits the Expo's success to the new location in Brazil, and he is already planning for next year's Expo, which he hopes to keep in Buenos Aires. "It sure beats the bone out of Albuquerque," he quipped.

New Prevention Treatment Available for "Tusk Rot"

Scientists in Sweden have developed a new and inexpensive procedure to prevent what has been termed "tusk rot". The treatment involves dipping one's tusks in melted parafin and then rubbing the waxy substance into the grooves and cracks of the tusks with a soft cloth.

tusk rot Ralph Sven, chief tuskologist for the Swedish Medical Center, said that using the parafin on a regular basis should work to prevent the awful disease. "And it makes your tusks real shiny", Sven said. But the treatment is not for everyone, and should be approached with caution. "The parafin is very hot," Sven warned, "and you could burn your nose or lips if you're not careful." Tusk rot affects approximately a dozen people worldwide.
